MSE Animalistic Challenge

The fortnightly challenge on MSE was to create a card with animals in mind.  This topper is from a wonderful kit by Hunkydory and has some brilliant stamps to go with it.  I love the paw print stamp I used and it reminds me very much of my floor when my Ben comes in from the rain and you can't catch him to wipe his feet.  This beautiful raspberry colour card is from SU as is the spotty ribbon.  I'm sending this to my sis-in-law as she's coming to stay with me in June for a girly week of crafting, strawberry picking, jam making, shopping and crafting. Yippee!

Afternoon Tea!

The head of our Red Hat Society chapter, Queen Mel, is away this weekend and, as I am the Vice Queen, I have arranged for a get together.  This month we are taking Afternoon Tea at the Waterside Tea Rooms in Maldon in Essex. The Tea Rooms are owned by my neighbour Sue and this is a little 'thank you' I made for her.

The box lid has been smeared with utterly gorgeous SU's Rich Razzlebery ink bought from Mrs Fab aka Monica of My Many Many Passions along with the ribbon of the same colour. Designer papers by SU as well and flowers from Wild Orchid.  I used a Grand Nestabilities label to cut the card and smaller label dies for the greeting.  I hope she likes it.

Bubbles

One of my Red Hat friends is called Bubbles, well, that describes her exactly, she is one bundle of fun.  It's her birthday and this is the card I'm sending her.  The paper is from CraftWork Cards, as is the sentiment.  The image is from a digital Sugar Nellie stamp that I love and many thanks to Margaret on MSE for showing me these gorgeous designs.  I know I am going to have them all very soon.

The brown card came with the paper which was in a Craftwork Cards goody bag.  I've set the image under a Spellbinders Labels 17 frame.  The apple blossoms sit in front of a mulbery paper bloom to give it some definition and I tied a loopy bow with the Bowdabra from Crafty Ribbons.  A couple of Marianne Designs flourishes and some pearls and pin  finished it off.

Many thanks to Sarah for telling me about the challenges, so with no further ado, I would like to enter Bubbles card into the following:

A Belated Birthday Card

Claire from the MSE forum shares the same birthday as me and this is the card I made for her, albeit a little late.  Sorry Claire!

I cut the card using one of the Grand Nestabilities and  also used a Sugar Nellie digital image called Verity.  I love this range of images.  I put the digital image through the sepia tint effect on Picasa which has toned in with the card colours.

St Patricks Day US Card Swap

Our theme for March was St Patricks Day or the Luck of a Red Hatter.  Easy Peasy for me as we don't really celebrate St. Patricks Day so I enjoyed making these green cards.

Another Grandaughter's Birthday

It was my 4th grandaughter Lacey's birthday a couple of weeks ago and her theme for her birthday party was Jessie from Toy Story.  I made some cupcake wraps featuring Jessie's hat while her Mum (my daughter) made and decorated her little cakes and made a fabulous birthday cake as well.  I printed and decoupaged Jessie into a card for her too.

Birthday Cards Galore!

It was my birthday last weekend and I was 39 (cough!) yet again.  Here are the triple gorgeous cards I received from those most fab girls over on the MSE Forum.  Thank you.

These three beauties are from Dawn (Addams) Margaret (Yummy - Marg!)  and Caroline (CT19720)

This beautiful trio are from Jan (Scatty) and Antonia (OAP1945) and Claire (Mad-Frog)

This bevy of beauties are from Jenny (dragonllew) Sarah (rainmac) and Karen (flourgirl)

Look at the next gorgeous trio from Jo (jowri) Oona (choccy) and Ali (alib123)

And last but by no means least a fab teddy from Debbie (Padster)

I have been very very lucky to receive such lovely cards and I am so proud to 'rub shoulders' with these talented ladies who are design team members for some pretty fantastic craft sites too.

Birthday Card for Another Grandaughter

Our  lovely Lucy is seven at the weekend and this is the card I made for her.  She still loves Miss Kitty and all of the five girls love having their cards personalised.  Thank you Kelly for help with the images.

MSE Challenge - Water

On the MSE forum Marg set us the challenge of creating a card with the theme of water.  This House Mouse stamp from Joanna Sheen seems to tick the box with rain.  The image has been coloured with Promarkers and layered on gold mirri and then mounted on a Pink Petticoat paper.  The LOTV sentiment stamp is part of a set I bought from Tams (Droplets in a Rusty Bucket, a brilliant blog!). The sweet little daffodils I've had for ages and was one of the first set of flowers I purchased, the rest is history.
I can't wait to get out into the garden and be able to take my photos in natural light, it's fair blowing a gale here in Essex.
