Our challenge at One Stitch At A Time is 'Use a Digi', and I chose Quirky Cora from Hope Jacare for my teamies , Nataliya and Lady Ann and you can find her here. Isn't she cute? Our rules are very easy:-
Our Sponsor this week is our own Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet and the top prize is the 7 image monthly pack but we must see a digi from the store on your card and you may enter as many times as you wish.
The runner-up prize is $3 to spend in the store if you use a non Stitchy Bear Outlet Store digi image, you may enter a maximum of three times
When I was colouring this image my mind wandered back to my very early teens when I lived in the Old Kent Road in south London. There were hardly any clubs where girls could join in, it was mainly for boys. Our local church ran a club where we could go and chat and have a cup of coffee. It was run by a deaconess and we would often see her flying around on her old bike with basket on the front. She wore the veil but ordinary clothes, she would always have her sandals on, summer and winter but would wear thick grey stockings with them to keep her feet warm. She was such a sweet lady but her dress was definitely 'quirky' This card is dedicated to her and her unstinting kindness to teenage girls. The sentiment is from a song By the Kinks from 1966. coloured with Promarkers and paper from stash.

I looked at the image, looked at your sentiment and imagined that very story before I'd even read about the deaconess! I knew someone just like that too. Hazel x
Hahahahaha - what a brilliant sentiment to go with this digi Jennie, you couldn't have found a better one hun :) :) Great colouring and such a fun card - thank you for putting a smile on my face today :) Hugs Jane xxxx
Oh your card did make me smile Jennie. I love the image and that sentiment from the Kinks song (which I do know!) Great creation (as always)

Oh Jennie, what a wonderful dedication to The Deaconess who gave so much to the girls of our youth ....I'm imagining her looking down at this card and feeling very treasured and valued.
You truly could not have matched a more perfect song with this cute image .... I have been transported back to my youth and remembering the dubious outfits that we wore with such pride. Hmm, now how long will the Kinks hit be going through my head now that you have put it there Jennie.
What a great card this is ....I've enjoyed it so much.
Love Ingrid xxx ♥ ♥ ♥
