Just discovered something that should prove interesting but I'm not sure if it will always work, time will tell. It's been hovering in my mind for a while and I'm sure it's been in print somewhere. The sentiment on this card I made for my fantastic sister was printed on card. When it had printed I noticed that the ink was still wet so I put some 'copper kettle' embossing powder on it and then used the heat gun. It came out so much better than I expected that I used the new nesties and voila!

Flourgirls stitched card

Take a look at the gorgeous card that flourgirl recently made. She had the pattern in her stash and thought of me. There's some really special people out there. Thank you, Karen, I will treasure this.

Well, I'm humming and haring about whether to enter this card into the Funky Fairy's Challenge 25. I'm not sure if I've followed the sketch closely enough but, hey ho, in for a penny etc. etc.

I've made this gorgeous purple card for another Red Hatter whose birthday is in July. I hope she likes it, I've used a sheet from a Kanban kit and a background paper from funky fairy's purple freebies printed on photo paper, not sure about doing again on photo paper, it's very delicate or was it the paper. Hmmm!

Arundel Castle ~ 18th July

The weather was perfect for our trip down to Sussex to meet up with Red Hat friends at Arundel Castle. We met in Belinda's restaurant situated in a charming 16th century building for morning coffee and then did a good tour of the Farmers Market that is held once a month. We were all ready for lunch in the castle restaurant and then off to look around the gardens. There is a new garden at the castle and it is truly magnificent from the moment you step through the castle wall. It takes your breath away as it is just not what you are expecting. It is worth a visit if you are ever in the area. After the gardens we went back into the castle for tea and coffee and then one of our friends, Judy, took us on a guided tour of Arundel. This guided tour is usually done by the town crier but she was away for the day but we had access to her notes. It was extremely interesting and we all learnt a great deal about Arundel.

Chapter member's bithday

Friday 17th is the birthday of one of our RHS chapter members, I've made this card for her in one of my favourite colours, sage. Its the first time I've used the Nestabilities Label 1 set, I hope she likes it.

MSE challenge

The challenge set on MSE this week was for a 'thank you' card with embossing, wet or dry. On this card I have used Pink Petticoat papers in a washed out sage and coloured dots which is one of my favourite combinations. For the embossing I used a copper kettle embossing powder I bought on ebay onto the plain sage. The stamp is an Inkadinkadoo one I've had for a while, it's a nice sharp image. I am very pleased with this card, it's a pity I could capture it better.

Christmas In July!

I wasn't overjoyed with the card I made for the Christmas card challenge on MSE. I don't think the background papers showed off Meg to her best so, I made another card. Two in July, that is defo a record for me! I loved how this one turned out and I am ejoying using the Copic Ciao markers I recently bought. Just a couple of sets but I'm determined to buy more. Another Pink Gem Designs stamp, this will definitely appear on my Christmas cards this year. Background paper is from a free CD from Crafters Companion.

One Colour Card Challenge

Cripes! it's ages since I posted anything but I've managed to do a few things.

This my effort for the Craft Place challenge for a card using one colour. For mine I chose shades of lilac and hightlights of purple. I haven't put a sentiment on it but I'm thinking of sending this to a special friend up in Scotland who is celebrating being with her man for three years now.


I loved this cow knitting from Pink Gem Designs, they are always sharp and clean when you stamp. I made the card for a little lady called Kaitlyn who enjoys working with her granny aka craftygranny from MSE. It's lovely to know that we have budding crafters, get the buzz when you're young and it seems to stay forever. Hugs! Kaitlyn and I am sending you a photo of me in the big hat and feathers and all the bling and I do have a tiara that I wear when I am doing the housework!!
