A Granddaughters Birthday.

It was our eldest granddaughter's birthday earlier in the month and Romani has just turned thirteen so out with the fairies and teddies and in with something more grown up.

I chose a steampunk stamp from a set called Viviene by Kanban Stamps and coloured it with a mix of Promarkers and Flexmarkers and edge with some Antique Linen distress ink. I used a Spellbinders die to cut a frame and mat and layered this onto a piece of paper by Prima. A ribbon flower from some lovely trinkets I bought from a Facebook seller and leaves from Memory Box and a flourish from Marianne designs to finish.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:-

Crafty Sentiments Designs : Anything Goes
Die Cutting Divas #139 - Anything Goes
LEJ Designs Challenge Blog #77 - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Created With Love Challenge CWLC 64 - Anything Goes

A Lovely New Challenge at OSAAT # 187

It's that time of the week when there is a lovely new challenge at OSAAT. our theme this week is .......
spooky time.........
BOO!

If you're someone who doesn't do  Halloween, well, let's see Halloween colours, lots of black and red etc..  The rules are pretty straightforward,

1, You may enter our challenge as many times as you like as long as you use a Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet image available from here.  You have the chance to win out top prize of 3 x Promarkers from our fab sponsor Creative Craft World. If you decide to enter with a non-Stitchy Bear image you will be placed in a draw for a runners-up prize of $3 to spend in the store but you may enter only three times.

2, On your post you must link to our challenge blog.

3, No backlinking, your project must be new and blogged after our challenge goes live.

For my card this week I've used 'Devilish Kiss' by  Sentimental Susan and you can find her here.  Well, she is certainly ready to captivate you on the 31st with those scarlet lips.

The background paper is a digi set by Gina Jane Designs called Halloween-Flourishes and I've added some die cuts from Spellbinders and the spider web is from Memory Box. The black cat at the bottom that you can just make out is a Spellbinders die from back in the days when you would often find a freebie with their dies, I have three of these but the cat is really used a lot.  The sentiment is self-generated and I used a font from Dafont.com called Bleeding Freaks, really handy for spooky writing.

Challenge Day at One Stitch at a Time

Midday Sunday and where has this week gone? When we were so much younger time would drag and we thought we'd never get to be sixteen, now fifty years later time just goes so quickly. I've been planning what to grow in the way of flowers and veggies next year in the garden that OH and I look after, Steady, Jen, it's not even Christmas yet.

It's that special time on Sunday when a new challenge gets posted at One Stitch at a Time.  This week is everyone's favourite, 'Anything Goes'. To enter the rules are very simple and straightforward.

1, You can enter our challenge as many times as you like as long as you use a Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet image available from here.  You have the chance to win out top prize of all of the digi stamps used by the DT in Challenge 184 and I'm sure that is six great digis.  You can enter ONLY three times with a non-Stitchy Bear image.

2, On your post you must link to our challenge blog.

3, No backlinking, your project must be new and blogged after our challenge goes live.

For my card this week I've used the image called 'Victoria Twilight' created by BBKakes, isn't she classy, definitely a night owl and none of that getting up at six in the morning and off to work.

I've cut an aperture through a piece of paper and cut and place Victoria inside the card.  I've coloured her with promarkers and added a few die-cuts from Memory Box and added as well three flowers from Wild Orchid.  I've kept the colours quite muted as this is one classy lady not to be hidden away by embellishments.

Time for a new Challenge #185 at OSAAT

Our challenge at One Stitch At A Time challenge blog  this week is called, 'Winter Wonderland' and such a great theme.  Our rules are quite straightforward,

1, You can enter our challenge as many times as you like as long as you use a Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet image available from here.  You have the chance to win out top prize of three lovely Promarkers from our sponsor this week, Creative Craft World.  You can enter ONLY three times with a non-Stitchy Bear image.

2, On your post you must link to our challenge blog.

3, No backlinking, your project must be new and blogged after our challenge goes live.

In the words of The Meerkat, 'Simples'!

Well, my card this week, for me, proved to be difficult. Not in using Alipeeps Art's really beautiful image that you can find here but in that it was the anniversary of losing our Paul. I tried so hard but grief got in the way and I created something that has so much meaning in the image and words, selfishly, just for me.  This will stay with me forever and is so personal.

I've used the Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals One for the navy blue card and cut the the beautiful image with a plain oval. The stars are an X-Cut die and the silver flourish comes from Memory Box.

Time another Challenge at OSAAT

Carol, one of our teamies chose this beautiful image from Hope Jacare Doodles and its called 'Owl on a Swirly Branch. Aren't her designs gorgeous. The background paper is from a First Edition's pad called Sweet Owl and I've coloured the image with Promarker.  The sentiment is a freebie by Netty's Cards.  Check her blog out it, she makes gorgeous cards.
