OSAAT Challenge #98 Collab ~ Use a Digi

The challenge this week over on One Stitch at a Time's challenge blog is to "use a digi".  I chose IkesArt's fabulous 'Snow Deer Scene' and used it with with very simple monochrome accents.  I just coloured the deer and left everything as is and added loads and loads of glitter. I wanted the deer to be the focal point of the card and just added a small loopy bow and a self generated sentiment.

One Stitch at a Time Challenge # 97 Round & Round

Over on the OSAAT challenge blog the theme this week is Round & Round. I chose this gorgeous image of a snow leopard as my inspiration, the image is called Winter Wonder by Delicious Doodles.  Isn't it beautiful and lends itself to a monochrome look so well, all that I've done is add a liitle colour here and there in the leopard and just coloured the girl's skin and hair.  My camera didn't pick up the glitter I've used on her dress and gloves but it is there.  I cut a Grand Nestabilities scallop circle in white as the base and just edged it with silver ink.  I then layered on a black scallop circle and topped that with a plain circle of Pink Petticoat's Tiny Leopard Prints in Shimmer.  The image I've mat & layered in matt silver and black.  A computer generated sentiment and a black moire silk knotty bow to finish.

New Kit on the Block

For an absolute age I've wanted a stand mixer, aka a KitchenAid.   I've got a food processor and a hand whisk etc. but not the big model.  For my birthday my OH has bought me this gorgeous KitchenAid in the colour, Cafe-Latte from Wheesh who couldn't have been more helpful and gave me the new Beater Blade as a freebie.

I felt I had to make OH a cake as a thank-you and dug out all the cake baking books and decided to start easy-peasy first of all and chose a Mary Berry Victoria Sponge all-in-one mix.  The KitchenAid cookbooks, being American, are so very expensive. I had seen the KitchenAid being used in the BBC TV show, The Great British Bake-Off  and contestants used Mary's recipe in one episode so I felt I could manage.  I threw everything in the bowl, started the mix off on a low speed and the new beater and after a couple of minutes, it was ready. This is the remnants of an 8 inch sponge with Kitty looking gorgeous in a pearlised ivory.

One Stitch At A Time Challenge Blog

Seems like I've got lots to learn still about darned Blogger and scheduling as my post didn't go live this morning.

First of all, Happy New Year to you all out there in blogland.

Secondly, my lovely friend Choccy asked me if I would like to be a new member of the OSAAT design team.  I couldn't bite her arms off again 'cos I've already done that so I said Yes!  I'll working alongside some awesome design teamies and I'm really excited about the images I'll be working with.

This is my first card on the first day of the first month of a new year, how magic is that??

I've been a lucky lady and have used on my cards one of Stitchy's brilliant images called Marjo which is new for me and you can find her right here at  Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps shop.  She has that pose, a real sassy lady.  Hopefully, one of you will be able to tell me which papers I've used because I have totally forgotten, it was hidden away at the bottom of the box.  I love the Letraset Flexmarker colours of purple and green to go with the papers. Just a tied knot of purple ribbon and a computer generated sentiment to finish.  Pop over to the One stitch At A Time Challenge Blog here to see the other fantastic cards.  Please leave us a comment on the challenge blog, we all love having visitors.
